Nevada NOW is a state organization within the larger National Organization for Women network. Nevada NOW has two chapters, Southern Nevada NOW and UNLV NOW, and one Campus Action Network (CAN) at Nevada State College. Nevada NOW and all its chapters are run by volunteers. There are approximately 600 NOW members in Nevada, making Nevada NOW the largest women's political action (and feminist) organization in Nevada. Nevada NOW is an activist rather than a direct services organization. We seek to effect change through lobbying, advocacy, education and protest. The NOW strives to eliminate discrimination and harassment in the work place, schools, the justice system, and all other sectors of society; secure reproductive rights for all women; end all forms of violence against women; eradicate racism, sexism and homophobia, promote equality and justice in our society.
